Zachary turned 1 week yesterday and he's already counting down the days til he can have the "first one today" with dad, aka a cold beer. We told him only 1,091 more weeks to til he can legally can have one. He had his first doctor's appointment on Tuesday and is now 6pds 15oz and 20in long. The doc was happy with his progress, although he wasn't happy going to the docs or being there. He showed us how unhappy he was by "blowing it out" on the way to the doc's causing us to have to pull over and change him.
Zachary also has had visitors stop by including his big cousin Caden who seems to like being the older cousin. You can see how proud Caden is holding him. Also Grandma came by with a very special guest, Great Grandma. Uncle Harold and Aunt Janelle have also stopped by too. Zachary has been very content when being held by family members. Aubelito Marco tried his hand at babysitting Zachary, but like Zachary, ended up falling asleep with him. I think we need to remind Aubelito he needs to watch Zachary fall asleep, not fall asleep with him.
The past few nights he has slept little, on average 3-4 hours, so needless to say we're a bit tired too. We are trying to rest and even nap when he does. Hopefully he'll start sleeping during the night, so we can sleep too. Still we wouldn't trade the experience so far for anything.
Ha Ha! Forget about sleep! You will soon learn to function on very little sleep! Adelyn slept through the night (8 hours) at 11 weeks! Good luck! Oh and I love the picture of Caden and Zach. Zach's little eyes are saying "Uh, what's going on here?" So cute!
